Indulge in a unique magical ‘glamping’ experience at Trevellan Magic Space, in beautiful self-wilded woodland and private grassy clearings, situated between the lively town of Falmouth and the outstanding nature of the Helford Estuary in SW Cornwall. You can choose one of our two spacious, off-grid traditional hand-painted & felt-insulated Mongolian Yurts complete with woodburning stove, or stay in the 2-bed fully-equipped static caravan ‘Rose Chalet’ with its light spacious kitchen/dining/living room overlooking bird-filled woodland and gardens.
Our Woodland Yurt is nestled in a clearing in wild blackberry woods, with secluded sunny grass area for BBQ/fire & picnic bench. The Hilltop Yurt has far-reaching 360* views, and direct sun all day long, sunrise to sunset. The hilltop has an area with picnic bench and BBQ/fire basket, as well as the granite stone circle with firepit. Each Yurt is approached by foot on a meandering woodchip or grass pathway as a beautiful short walk through the woodsland, rich in foliage, ferns, lichens, wildflowers, birds, butterflies, owls, bats, toads, and occasional deer passing nearby. Rose Chalet has a large open-plan kitchen/diner/living room, with pull-out sofa bed. A twin bedroom, double bedroom, shower room and separate WC, with gas central heating throughout, offers flexible accommodation for upto 6 guests, with bedding and towels provided. There is a picnic bench and BBQ for Chalet guests, on the grassy area just outside.
The Magic Space has been created as a beautiful natural wellbeing sanctuary and place of peaceful inspiration to immerse yourself in nature. A refreshing getaway with clear night skies with no light pollution, ideal for stargazing. The perfect retreat.

More about our Yurts…
…. the Woodland Yurt: Settled into a woodland glade, our Woodland Yurt is surrounded by self-wilded young oak, ash and sycamore mixed woodland with hawthorn, blackthorn and beautiful ferns and lichens – a sign of good air quality.
…. the Hilltop Yurt: With panoramic views, a semi-circular grassy plateau and surrounded by scrub, wild woodland and traditional granite Cornish hedges with oak, elder, sycamore and ash, the Hilltop Yurt feels a welcome step away from the busyness of our modern world.
Yurt Stays….
Both our yurts are colourfully furnished each with a super-comfy double bed, double sofa bed and single sofa bed – sleeping 5 easily with plenty of space. The yurts feature professionally-fitted wood-burning stoves, with our own sustainable firewood available to purchase on site (first basket included on arrival). Low-impact solar lighting and candle lantern.
Our yurts, hand-made by the Nomadic crafts-people of Mongolia, travelled overland arriving at Trevellan in spring 2021. These stunning, beautiful hand-painted, 5.8m diameter, larch lattice traditional dwellings are wrapped in an inch-thick yaks wool felt (designed for living in the cold of the Mongolian desert) keeping the temperature comfortable, whatever the weather. A cotton liner, breathable membrane, and canvas outer layer, adapt the yurts to our Cornish climate. The yurts have a clear ‘crown’ (central skylight) so you can see the sun and stars from your bed!
Each yurt has its own beautiful handmade wooden tree-house-style compost toilet, with a clear roof so you can gaze up at the trees, a private shower enclosure for an al fresco solar shower-bag experience under the trees, a separate hand-crafted wooden kitchen bench with sink and fresh drinking water tap, private picnic bench and grass clearing with BBQ/fire basket.
We provide solar shower bags for the yurt, which you can fill with water and leave in the sunshine to warm up ready for a natural no-carbon outdoor shower experience, surrounded by trees. The best time for a warm shower is in the afternoon or early evening, before the bag cools down overnight. Alternatively, add warm water from your camping kettle, or by heating a kettle on the woodburner.
Please only use the natural biodegradable washing up liquid, hand-soap and shower wash that we provide, as all water drains into the woods and we want to keep the plants and tress safe and free from chemicals, thankyou.
You are welcome to bring your own camping stove, eating utensils, pots and pans. Or contact us when booking if you would like us to provide a ‘cooking kit’ of small gas camping stove, and basic cooking and dining equipment (pans, plates, bowls, cups, cutlery etc) at an extra charge.
To keep our environmental footprint low, we ask you to bring your own towels and bedding – sheets, sleeping bags, pillows. If this is not possible, we can sometimes provide towels and bedding at an extra charge of £12-£15 per person. Please contact us when booking to ask whether we can provide bedding for your stay.

By foot, a short walk along footpaths over 3 fields, our closest treasure is the Potager gardens and cafe – fabulous high quality food served in a restored giant greenhouse, open Thursday to Sunday for advance bookings. Another mile and you will arrive in the village of Constantine with two local shops, one of which is famous for its enormous collection of whiskeys and spirits. The village has a church, school, doctor’s surgery and community centre, pop-up food, and the popular creek-side pub at Trengilly Wartha. Another pleasant walk along no-thru-lanes and bridleways takes you to our closest water at Port Navas on the Helford estuary. What other guests say:
‘Amazing place to stay overall when you want to disconnect from the day to day lifestyle. Also a 10 minute drive from the centre where you can find a variety of pubs and amazing quality restaurants and some of the best fish and chips. Clean place to stay, Jackie was extremely helpful and was prompt with her communication! Will be going back soon.‘ – Josh, Romania, December ’23 (Hilltop Yurt)
‘Lovely and relaxed. Would highly recommend and would go again. 👍’ – Marc, UK, August ’23 (Woodland Yurt)
‘The space was great! Extremely welcoming host, felt serene and chilled. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting tranquil simplicity. Thank you Jackie.‘ – Damien, England, August ’23 (Hilltop Yurt)
‘We came to stay at the Woodland Yurt on Trevellan for our honeymoon with our 1 year old son. It was a beautiful place with lots of little paths in-between lovely woodlands that have been well looked after. Jackie was a great host and was really helpful with any issues we had. We brought our own fireguard for the log burner as it is freestanding however with all the space in the yurt and outside on the grass our little one was kept occupied most often and enjoyed the outdoors! The toilet was great, easy to use and clean. The washing up area also. The solar bag shower was fab although we definitely cheated using hot water from the kettle- best to do on a day that is calmer weather wise! But wonderfully refreshing once you get the handle of it! Would recommend as the yurt is so beautiful to stay in, with the lights in the evening it was magical‘ – Claire, Birmingham, August ’23
‘Jackie was extremely helpful, the yurt was stunning and we had peaceful break. I cannot recommend the gong bath more, Jackie was very knowledgable in the practise and we had a wonderful experience. We would 100% stay here again.’ – Lukas, London, July ’23 (Hilltop Yurt)
‘This is a must stay!! I went to the Mongolian yurt with my partner not sure exactly what to expect. Always living in a city, I wanted to do something different and this was exactly that! I must say due to my slightly sheltered upbringing the thought of using a compost toilet was slightly alien to myself. However, upon arrival Jackie was quick to meet us and give us a tour of the place. You quickly learn to love the ethos of the place and I found myself loving the things I thought would take some figuring out. Jackie was always there to help and even started the log burner for us to ensure we were warm enough. Despite the horrendous rain and wind, it almost made the stay even better. Being able to hear the wind and rain whilst tucked away warm and inside the yurt made for incredibly peaceful evenings. I look forward to coming back in the Summer and taking advantage of the other aspects such as the solar shower and outdoor firepit area. Thank you Jackie!‘ – Chris, UK, March ’23 (Hilltop Yurt)
‘Such a beautiful magical spot. We loved our stay in the Woodland Yurt.’ – Daisy, Frome, September ’22
‘It’s a very lovely place! Jackie is a lovely host and we loved our stay at her Chalet. I hope to go back soon!‘ – Marinella, Italy, August ’22
